If you are ever in need of a crochet plush, a sweet treat or some decor for your home, St. Mary’s student businesses have got your back.

Four students here are part of the 4% of teenage girls who already own a business, according to research from Junior Achievement and Ernst & Young LLP (EY).

 

Lydia Ford sells her prints, paintings and tags at various pop up shops to attract more customers. She also creates holiday themed products that make great gifts for loved ones.

Ellis Rougeou (right) and Virginia Skipworth (left) began their successful baking company, Ginger Butter Baking Co., in 2023. They make a variety of treats ranging from cakes, cupcakes and cookies to scones and even eclairs.

Rutschman started her crochet business, Julianas Crochet Zoo, in 2022 and sells all sorts of plush animals such as turtles, cows and pigs.

Senior Saniya Young is the proud owner of Crochet Creations which sells homemade stuffed animals, clothing and accessories.
