This may be my favorite movie of all time.
Joel Barish (Jim Carrey) erases his memory of his ex-girlfriend after Clementine Kruczynski (Kate Winslet) underwent the same procedure, unhappy with their breakup.
Joel slowly watches his memories of Clementine fade away, and realizes he still loves her, despite her choice to erase him. He chases after her through the visions and she realizes the same, and the two try to hide in the memories in order to not be erased.
This movie is devastating. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever felt so empty yet fulfilled after watching a film before. The two leads deliver insanely raw performances, something I honestly didn’t expect from Jim Carrey. Watch it.
