Sixth Place: Congregation Coffee

Categories:
Congregation Coffee’s oat milk vanilla latte (Mary Elizabeth Autry)
Congregation Coffee’s brown sugar shaken oat milk expresso (Mary Elizabeth Autry)

This coffee shop was the least strong of the bunch. The coffee was nothing exceptional, fetching just a 6.5/10 in terms of quality and taste. The vanilla latte seemed watered down and did not taste noticeably different from their brown sugar shaken espresso, which we rated a 7/10. Also, it is in Germantown, which is a 25-minute drive from school. The price is about the same as the rest of the shops we reviewed at $13 for two regular iced coffees, but the quality of the coffee makes the price feel inflated. It does have some redeeming qualities: it’s a really good study space and boasts fresh pastries from the local bakery Sweet Lala’s. The atmosphere is cozy and breeds productivity, but, unless you live in Germantown, there’s no need to rush to this shop for some coffee.

Overall : 1/5 weak coffee, inconvenient area, high price, but plus one for good working environment
